STRESS FREE HOLIDAY STYLE We all have our own ideas of our perfect holiday, be it sightseeing, activities and water sports or relaxing on a beach. Here we have put together a short guide of the perfect items to pack for the most popular types of holiday, to take the stress out of packing. THE BEACH HOLIDAY A favourite with millions every year, the beach holiday is probably the easiest holiday to pack for. Obviously during the day you will probably be wearing swimwear, but after the sun goes down, you’ve been back to your room for a shower and to apply the after sun it’s nice to slip on something cool and comfortable that shows off all that hard work you’ve put in on your tan. The maxi dress is great for a relaxing evening spent eating good food with a glass or two of wine. Team with flat sandals or heels if you prefer. If dresses are not your thing or you refer a more casual look then a cute strappy or halter top teamed with shorts or trousers is a great alternative. Beach holiday accessory basics include a beach bag, evening bag, sunglasses, sun hat, flat sandals and a pair of heels (yes one pair not 10!) THE CITY BREAK When it comes to a city break, packing requires a little more thought especially if you are travelling somewhere the weather is a bit unpredictable. Classic pieces in a few base colours that you can mix and match are key, items that can be worn both day and night are a life saver. Wear them with jeans and boots during the day and then transform the outfit with heels and statement accessories for the evening. Tea and wrap dresses are perfect for shopping or lunching at a pavement café during the day, add heels and accessorise for dinner or the theatre in the evening. Always include a lightweight raincoat, comfortable flat shoes or boots for walking and a pair of heels you can wear with everything. A tote or across the body bag is great for travelling and use during the daytime whilst a small clutch for evenings will take up hardly any room in your case. Don’t forget a hat and of course sunglasses to complete your stylish holiday look. THE CRUISE Cruise holidays are becoming more and more popular, with the opportunity to travel to several different countries whilst enjoying luxurious surroundings. Whilst it’s not all formal dining at the captains table there is a dress code of what is considered acceptable day and night aboard the ship. Day wear is pretty relaxed, shorts and t shirts, sun dresses, flip flops and sandals are all acceptable so there’s plenty of options available. If you want to soak up the sun around the pool be sure to have a pretty cover up ready to slip over the top. Most evenings are smart/casual so really most things you would wear to a restaurant at home like a pretty sun dress or top and trousers look equally good. No jeans though! For the occasional formal evening aboard the ship you can go all out for glamour. As with all holidays a day and evening bag and a fabulous pair of heels are essential. So wherever you are off to on holiday remember these basic rules for stress free packing and hopefully you won’t come back with loads of unworn clothes…..we’ve all done it!
